Changing what you eat can be really tough. You’re used to certain foods, and they’re a big part of your daily routine and how you celebrate things. Trying to change what you do every day can be as hard as eating more when you’ve just devoured a whole gallon of ice cream!
There’s also a lot of conflicting information about what’s good to eat and what’s not, which can be confusing. Sometimes, the foods that aren’t so good for you are really tempting and tasty.
It’s like choosing between what feels good RIGHT NOW and what’s better for you WHEN YOU’RE 78 LIKE ME! On top of that, your friends and family might eat differently, and that can make it even more challenging.
Your body also gets used to (and craves) the foods you usually eat, so it might not be very happy about sudden changes. But even though it’s difficult … if you keep learning about good food choices and have people who support you (including a professional) … you can make positive changes in how you eat.
