I looked ... but when I decided to STOP buying Gluten Free and switch to Paleo meatballs ... I couldn't find any to buy (if you want to go Paleo ... if you don't already ... START COOKING!) Then I thought ... why don't I make some myself!
If you've seen some of my recipes, you know that I'm totally IN LOVE with my air fryer. I still haven't made cake yet (coming soon ... already ordered the ingredients). But the preparation possibilities are endless!
I substituted Paleo ingredients for traditional ones in this allrecipes.com recipe. With most likely the same results.
I used Paleo-friendly "bread crumbs" (Diamond Italian-Style Nut Coatings) and Follow Your Heart plant-based Parmesan instead of traditional ingredients. And organic ground beef ... but you can also use ground turkey or even Beyond Meat.
I agree with allrecipes.com ... they're tender on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside when done in the air fryer. And I will never bake or pan-fry meatballs again.
I paired this with my Naturally Paleo Pasta Sauce and some low-carb pasta. Next time ... I'm going to try Paleo Alfredo Sauce (coming soon too). Eat it UP ... FOR REAL!
Italian-style meatballs gone Paleo in the air fryer! Pair with Gluten Free pasta or just dip it marinara for an appetizer ... they're that GOOD! Buon Appetito!

Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Combine meat(s), "bread crumbs", egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt in a large bowl. Mix until evenly combined. Form into 16 equal meatballs and place on a plate, cutting board, or baking sheet.
Place 1/2 the meatballs in the basket of the air fryer and cook 8 minutes (my 6-quart accommodated all of them). Shake the basket and cook 2 minutes more. Transfer to a serving plate and let rest for 5 minutes. Repeat with the remaining meatballs if needed.
These can be made ahead and frozen for later use. After combining ingredients, place the baking sheet or plate in the freezer for 4 hours. Transfer to a freezer-safe container. When ready to prepare, cook for 12 minutes, shake, and then cook for 3 minutes more.
Or freeze after cooking and reheat 1 to 2 minutes in the microwave or in you favorite sauce.
