I don't know about you but I am LAY-DOWN-TIRED of traditional salad dressings. I mean ... how much Blue Cheese (made with Follow Your Heart faux) concoction can you eat?
Then I stumbled upon this. It's from the bon appetit March 2023 magazine (I've been getting them since the 1980's).
I've never tried preserved lemons ... a Moroccan condiment made by storing fresh lemons in a lot of salt until they soften ... so you use the whole lemon ... rind and all minus the seeds. And ... yes ... they're a FERMENT too!
They give any dish a complex citrusy-umami-pickley tang. As they did to this surprisingly new addition to my salad dressing repertoire.
And ... it meets the criteria for my Fab 'n Fast collection. As it has only five ingredients and you can make it in 5 to 10 minutes.
Not only that, I tweaked the bon appetit recipe with good vegan mayo (you can use egg-based mayo too ... but who would want to?), plant-based sour cream (Follow Your Heart again), and Gluten Free Worcestershire sauce (Robbie's). All Paleo-friendly.
You can use this as a dressing with crispy greens or as a dip for veggies or my Air Fryer Buffalo Wings. Eat it UP!
Paleo Preserved Lemon Dressing gives you a break from those 4 tired dressing selections … AKA Blue Cheese, Ranch, Thousand Island, Italian … to discover a new sensational taste. And it’s a tummy-taming ferment too!
Whisk mayonnaise, sour cream, preserved lemon, chives, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl to combine; season generously with pepper.
Whisk in brine and 1 Tbsp water. Taste dressing and add more brine if needed.
